The Rutgers High School Musical Theatre Academy
Ranked as one of the top theatre training programs in the world, Mason Gross School of the Arts has a long tradition of excellence and success at Rutgers University. The Rutgers High School Musical Theatre Academy seeks to provide dedicated high school students with quality training in the area of Musical Theatre. Students work with industry professionals in a conservatory-styled program to focus on artistic development, college BFA audition preparation, and personal growth. Keeping with the mission of the university, students ages 13 to 18 focus on building technique and finding longevity in their art form.
Now in its fifth year, RHSMTA serves students from grades 8 through 12 of the tri-state area with Saturday classes beginning September 9th, 2017 and running through the end of the Fall Semester. The learning process culminates in an invited showcase in January 2018. A sample of our daily schedule can be found HERE.
The Mason Gross Extension Division, and Rutgers High School Musical Theater Academy Director, Stephen Agosto, encourage any student that feels compelled to audition – despite skill or talent level, physical limitations, learning challenges or financial capabilities – to do so. We are looking for driven, creative students willing to be part of an ensemble of like-minded performers coming together to create a positive environment and contribute to a productive experience.
